I feel a little bit bad about this post, but also completely okay with it at the same time. I went to see and cover Hands Like houses last Thursday and I just can’t not talk about how fantastic the two openers were before them.

Devour the Day was the first opener I saw and I listened to them most prior to the show. I like what I heard but was blown away by the intensity and the energy they brought to their live performances. They’re definitely a band I didn’t want to stop playing and will be following closely for another chance to see them.

Emarosa was the second band and weren’t quite as memorable, but holy crap their singer can sing. I haven’t been surprised and impressed by a singer like him in a long time. I have heard good things about the band before throughout the years but never got around to listening to them much. Definitely enjoyed hearing them live though.

Hands like Houses were the perfect combination between the two. Their singer as well has a great voice and just like the other two bands, their energy level was super impressive. Colorblind and Overthinking were personal favorites of their set.

Part of me wishes that I had listened to a lot more of each of the band’s music before this night so I could maybe have enjoyed it a bit more, but it’s also amazing to walk into a venue for a show you hadn’t planned on going to up until the day before like this one and get blown away by each band and just enjoy it as it happen. This was just another occasion that I’m super grateful to be given the chance to be a part of.

This show is most likely going to go down as one of my top 10 of the year and I’m super excited to hopefully be able to see them again soon.
