What a show to send Dani off.
Returning to the place that I had first seen Cold Kingdom people packed the Fine Line to say their goodbyes. This was lead singer Dani Engum’s last show with the band. I called the show being at this venue too, it only made sense for it to be held there. The Fine Line will forever be known to be as Cold Kingdom’s venue just from all the times I’ve seen the band play there and how much they rock the place. This special night included the band playing literally every single one of their songs -a treat to be a part of. “Let it Burn,” “Perfect Chambers,” and “Crash Poet” have always been favorites of mine live, and closing on “The Break” is right up top on my list of favorite closers of shows I’ve been to. The energy is always unreal.
The other three: Chris, Evan, and Jason all say that the band isn’t going anywhere. They are currently looking for someone to step into place for new material. Tough shoes to fill, but these are a group of guys I wouldn’t expect anything less than amazing from down the road. I’m excited to see what the future has in store.
Thank you again Dani for everything you’ve done for the band, for me, and for all your fans. Photographing you the past couple of years has always been something I’ve looked forward to. You’re an amazing subject to shoot!
