Photos + Recap: Bodega at Turf Club (St. Paul, MN)

Turf Club in St. Paul, MN

It’s been a couple days since Bodega played their set here in St. Paul, and I still don’t know how to feel about it. It’s not a bad thing in this case, it’s just it was kind of weird to go from metal bands I’ve seen before like Mastodon and Bad Wolves, to this weird, eccentric, indie post-punkish sounding band like Bodega. Musically everything was great and super catchy (I’ve had Jack in Titanic stuck in my head since). Bodega for me was just one of those bands that was a lot to take in all that once and made an impression on me because of that, and I’ve been thinking back to their set often since. As weird as it sounds, I feel like they could fit perfectly in an episode of Portlandia. They’re different and definitely a band worth watching.
