The Front Bottoms took to the ABQ with guests Brick + Mortar and Diet Cig last night. Diet Cig began the night with an energetic set lead by front woman Alex Luciano, whose stage presence was all she needed to get the crowd going. Their spunky, fun sound is a good listen for the dirty punk geeks.
Next to the stage was experimental rock band Brick + Mortar. This trio led by bassist frontman Brandon Asraf are just way too much fun. They had everything from a blow up alien to band members riding the crowd on a blow up mattress. They also had the music to back it up with heavy rock songs that included deep bass and other electronic influence.
The Front Bottoms then made it to the stage with a sufficiently warmed up Albuquerque crowd. Lead singer Brian Sella immediately displayed his dominance of the stage with songs like, “Skeleton” and “Funny You Should Ask.” Throughout the entire show it seemed as if every member in the audience knew every single word to every song. A band definitely adored by their fans. The festivities came to climactic end with balloons falling from the ceiling to the song, “Au Revoir (Adios).” All around, The Front Bottoms are an amazing band to see live.
