On the eve of Valentine’s Day, Boston based funk supergroup Lettuce brought the heat to San Diego’s Observatory North Park Theater.

When the doors opened, attendees -both young and seasoned, filtered into the Observatory and awaited one of the hottest performances of the evening.  The group immediately took the stage with no opener to warm everybody up.  Instead they were scheduled to play two sets back to back for the whole night, a treat for all the fans.  The whole performance was a variety of both old and new material, with familiar throwback covers of popular soul pieces such as “Express Yourself” by the legendary Charles Wright.

It had to be one of the most authentic, top shelf funk concerts I’ve ever attended.  For those who haven’t had the chance to go see Lettuce live, or for those “Funk Junkies” who are craving a taste of the funk, I’d highly suggest getting a ticket to go see them in person. Their live sound is absolutely satisfying.
