It’s not every day that a band like Acceptance makes a comeback. They did a three night stint in the Southern California area, two nights at The Troubadour in West Hollywood and one night at The Observatory in Santa Ana with The Money Pit and Emarosa. The first two nights were incredible to witness as a fan but the last night I was lucky enough to get the green light to snap some photos. The guys played Phantoms in it’s entirety and absolutely killed it. There were plenty of people who had caught the band live before they called it quits in 2006 but there were just as many people seeing the band for the first time. This fact made the energy at The Observatory incredible. Everyone was singing their heart out with the fists and hands in the air and how amazing is frontman Jason Vena? So amazing! It was also super nice to see former Anberlin guitarist, Christian McAlhaney shred again with Acceptance. I mean, even if you are the type to stand back with your arms crossed, I’m sure you were losing your entire shit at this show. Acceptance is perfect and if you had forgotten I’m sure this run of shows helped jog your memory.
Special thanks to Acceptance for having me and to Emarosa frontman, Bradley Walden for his part in getting Acceptance up and running. Emarosa puts on a hell of a live show as does The Money Pit. Do yourself a favor and see these guys live the next time they’re in town. Dates for The Money Pit can be seen here, dates for Emarosa can be seen here.
