The other night I had a chance to catch the American Candy Tour in New York and it was such a good show! First up was The Technicolors. I had never heard their music before the show but they were great! Next were two of the biggest names in pop punk right now, Knuckle Puck and Real Friends. Both bands are so energetic and exciting to watch. Every time I see Knuckle Puck, I’m completely blown away by how young they all are and the success they have already. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Real Friends before this show but I’ve always heard so many good things about them and now I finally understand why! They put on a fantastic live show full of crowd surfers and fans screaming every word. Finally was The Maine! They’re a band I’ve been following since the very beginning of their career (back in the The Way We Talk and Stay Up, Get Down times) and it’s so amazing to see how much they’ve progressed over the years. I think they’re at a point in their career where they’ve truly figured out who they are. They’ve matured so much since the last time I saw them and have become a full-fledged rock and roll band. They incorporated songs from every album into their setlist and even a Rolling Stones cover! This was an amazing tour and one of the best shows I’ve been to so far this year!
