The Missing Link Tour hit Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium for a show that made a Saturday night out of a Wednesday night. With Graveyard, Clutch, and Mastodon on the bill, folks knew they were in for a hell of a time and the bands didn’t leave a single person disappointed.
Sweden’s own Graveyard hit the stage first and floored me with their psychedelic heavy sound. As attendees filled the Palladium they quickly flocked to the stage to watch Graveyard slay. Their setlist was a nice blend of jams from Hisingen Blues and Lights Out and even had time to throw in a song off of their upcoming record. Their 40 minute set left many fans new and old excited to catch the band again soon.
Clutch played a hell of a career-spanning set that had everyone off of their feet. They even had time to play some new songs off their upcoming record, Psychic Warfare. I’m telling you right now the record is going to be RAD. A favorite part of Clutch’s set for me was the extended “D.C. Sound Attack!” I had the song stuck in my head when I first saw them at Riot Fest and it happened again this night. Frontman Neil Fallon is a beast.
Mastodon took the stage to ecstatic fans hungry for metal. They powered through a bunch of fan favorites including “Blasteroid,” “Oblivian,” and “The Czar” among many others with hardly any pause in between. The lights they had made them look other-wordly, as the band lifted their guitars and drummer Brann Dailor did work behind his kit.
Graveyard, Clutch, and Mastodon put on a clinic at the Hollywood Palladium. By far one of the funnest shows I’ve been to this year. Make sure you catch the tour when it hits a city near you, dates are here.
