It’s not every night the House of Blues in San Diego hosts a 21+ show but Sunday was one of them. Portland’s own Priory and UK lads Kaiser Chiefs set fire to the stage in one of the best shows I’ve seen at the venue to date. Priory started the night off with their mixture of electronic folk pop and got the crowd all sorts of worked up. Hardly stopping, the band continuously played jam after jam and covered all possible ground on stage. No matter where you directed your attention throughout their set, there was something rad going on. There are no dull moments when you’re watching Priory kill it. By the time Kaiser Chiefs stepped on the stage the crowd was warmed up. If you like a band that makes you want to fist pump, then Kaiser Chiefs is the band for you. Even if fist pumping is not your thing, frontman Ricky Wilson does plenty to entertain fans throughout the set. Whether it’s jumping off of the monitors or the drum kit, or getting down with the crowd at the barricade there’s lots to see. Even for the folks who didn’t want to bother with the crowd and were at the bar got their ear’s worth too. The band played a bunch of fan favorites including, “Ruby,” and “I Predict A Riot.” The guys even had time to throw in a cover of The Who’s “Pinball Wizard” which was super RAD. Trust me guys, you won’t want to miss the awesome 1-2 punch that is Priory and Kaiser Chiefs playing together. Dates are here.
