Widely acclaimed experimental rock band, Swans, are taking over California this week, with headlining shows in the Golden State’s biggest cities as well as a slot at the monumental Coachella Music & Arts Festival. Finishing up the touring cycle for last year’s To Be Kind, the band has been praised for their fearless, career-defining work, and have been successfully translating the energy from their latest release to their next-level live shows. Since the band’s reunion in 2010, their releases have been anything but sporadic; To Be Kindbeing their 3rd release in the ‘10s, fans and attendees can expect a versatile, noisey set filled with tunes, new and old, from the New York native’s staggering discography.
Opening up these shows is St. Louis singer-songwriter, Angel Olsen, whose album Burn Your Fire For No Witness has been met with mass critical acclaim this past year. Blending the genres of folk and indie rock, Olsen sings from the heart and is sure to set an intimate mood.
Mezzic is thrilled to be catching these two acts this Thursday in Orange County at The Observatory. The show is all ages and tickets are $25. Don’t sleep on this one!
