This past weekend, I had the chance to attend both Taking Back Sunday shows at the Electric Factory! Playing first was letlive. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a better frontman than Jason Butler. He was just so captivating to watch, between his flawless vocals and fearlessness when it comes to jumping into the crowd and climbing on anything and everything. Next up was The Menzingers. I had never seen them before either, but I was blown away. They have such a huge sound live that immediately made me a new fan. Finally, Taking Back Sunday came on! As a fellow Long Island native, Taking Back Sunday has been one of my favorite bands since middle school and they never disappoint! They played some of their greatest hits from all of their albums. One of the highlights of the night was when they played my personal favorite off of their newest album Happiness Is, “Better Homes and Gardens.” With every chorus, it became harder and harder to hold back tears. Taking Back Sunday later came out for encore and played arguably their two greatest hits, “Cute Without The ‘E'” and “MakeDamnSure.” The energy in the room is indescribable when there are thousands of people screaming the lyrics at the same time. I’ve seen this band fifteen times, with each show being just as great as the previous one. I can only hope there’ll be fifteen more!
