It was quite a diverse crowd that filled the House of Blues in San Diego last night. Headliner HIM brought along Motionless in White and Dublin’s own Wounds for a show that was pretty odd but loads of fun. If you haven’t listened to Wounds yet I suggest you change that immediately. Wounds is everything you want out of a band. Their sound is heavy, they’re entertaining, and frontman Aidan Coogan commands the stage with a swagger similar to Taking Back Sunday’s Adam Lazzara, except cooler. By time Motionless in White hit the stage the audience was ready, I however was not. Everything was cool until guitarist Devin Sola hit the stage and freaked me the fuck out. Like, cool man, I get it but I’m gonna shoot stage right if it’s alright with you. Their fans weren’t taken aback at all they were super stoked and I began to see why, Motionless in White is a force to be reckoned with on stage. Their presence is demanding but they make every second your eyes are fixed on them worth while. My pansy-ness aside, I would totally see this band again. HIM is pretty classic so I imaged their crowd would be mostly older folks. Suprisingly, their crowd was completely diverse in ages, there were even a few pre-teens whose parents surprised them with the show. It make sense, because when a band is consistently putting out good music, fans regardless of age will flock to their shows. HIM is stellar live to boot. The entire show was excellent from start to finish. Make sure you catch this tour package if it comes near you -dates are here.
