I couldn’t think of a better place to be than at my favorite House of Blues in San Diego watching Bad Suns and New Politics absolutely destroy their sets. I walked into the venue during SomeKindaWonderful’s last song and wish I would have caught the entire thing. The crowd was clearly ready for what was to come after their set.
I was super impressed with Bad Suns from the last time I saw them with The 1975 in Los Angeles. But their show at the House of Blues completely blew my mind. These guys are your new favorite band, I guarantee it. Fans were in an uproar especially during songs, “Salt,” “Cardiac Arrest,” and my personal favorite, “Dancing in Quicksand.” Frontman Christo Bowman is silky smooth on stage. Also, his dancing totally reminds me of the dancing dictator guy from American Dad. Anyone? No? Just me? Alright. Miles Morris, Gavin Bennett, and Ray Libby are forces to be reckoned with on stage. If you’re unfamiliar do yourself a favor and check these guys out.
New Politics hit the stage in a frenzy. The band’s energy is incredible. They made sure to leave no area of the stage unvisited. Their lighting perfectly complemented their set and the crowd’s energy only seemed to fuel their fire even more. Bottom line is if any of these bands are playing in a town near you, you should absolutely be there.
