Wilco lead singer and songwriter, Jeff Tweedy has been taking some time off from his main act to focus on his new project, Tweedy. Tweedy‘s new album Sukierae, features Spencer Tweedy, Jeff’s son on drums, and Jess and Holly from Lucius on back up vocals. As you’d except from the man who is arguably the best songwriter of the past 20 years, the album is fantastic. The Tweedys complete with a bassist, a guitarist, and a multi-instumentalist, played a fantastic set of songs off of the new album. Being a huge Wilco fan, my favorite part of the set was when Jeff played a solo acoustic set of Wilco songs. In classic Tweedy fashion, Jeff went on a rant about dung beetles, ignored audience requests, and politely yelled at a fan for clapping out of time. The band returned to the stage to finish the show with not one but two Mavis Staples covers and of course California Stars. What a way to spend a Sunday night!
