The 1975 hit Club Nokia as part of Localchella and brought out California’s own Sir Sly and Bad Suns. The show was exactly as good as it sounds if not better. No wonder so many fans were lined up since 4 AM for a chance to be front and center at this sold out show.
Sir Sly started the night off and grabbed the attention and adoration from the folks in attendance immediately. They ran with it and played an excellent set. I’m keeping tabs on these guys from now on and you should too! Bad Suns hit the stage next and left me totally impressed. Bad Suns sounds like California in the summer time. They were awesome.
Finally 1975 hit the stage and everyone lost their minds. In a fog with only a few lights and a lit up rectangle like their album art the band came out and started to play. Frontman Matthew Healy, wine bottle in hand, demands attention and the crowd gladly gave it. They played through everyone’s favorites and left them wanting more. The 1975 is a band you’ll definitely want to see live if you get the chance. Whether you show up and 4 AM or just before show time you’re guaranteed a good time.
