MusInk Festival 2014
Descendents (Los Angeles, CA), Rittz (Atlanta, GA), The Transplants (Los Angeles, CA), and Judge (New York, NY)
March 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2014
The OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA
This year’s MUSINK fest brought about a 3 day appreciation for tattoo culture and excellent music to Costa Mesa, CA. Day 1 had Love Canal, The Vandals, and legendary punk band Descendents on the bill. Running over from the House of Blues in Anaheim, I arrived just in time to see The Vandals play the last 3 songs of their set. I was super bummed but getting to see a set by the Descendents totally softened the blow.
Day 2 of Musink had Rittz, The Transplants, and Techn9ne on the bill. Rittz started the music off with a lively set. Soon after, The Transplants hit the stage and I was just as stoked as I was the night before. Tim Armstrong, Skinhead Rob, and Travis Barker are beasts. They had the entire crowd eating out of the palms of their hands.
Day 3 had Strife, H2O, Judge, and Gorilla Biscuits on the bill. I had an outdated version of the set time list and so I arrived right as H2O was finishing their set. I was bummed again but I had so much fun watching so many people crowd surf their way to the stage. I don’t think it ever stopped. By the time Judge came on it got brutal and we were quickly escorted out of the way.
