Alkaline Trio and New Found Glory teamed up for a co-headlining tour with friends in H2O scheduled to run through November. The Los Angeles stop brought the bands to Club Nokia, arguably one of the best venues in Downtown LA. The show kicked off with H2O. I was so glad to see H2O at a venue like this though vocalist Toby Morse told the crowd he still preferred venues without a barricade which is understandable. H2O shows are all action and a barricade gets in the way of that just a bit. They still put on an excellent show. Alkaline Trio hit the stage next in their black and white AK3 official jackets. I got mine after the show at their merch table and it’s super comfortable. Just saying. I finally got to see them play “Warbrain” and I couldn’t even believe it. I was still in the photo pit when it happened so I wasn’t sure if I should have continued shooting or hit the floor. I ended up staying but was totally singing behind my camera. Alkaline Trio is perfect. New Found Glory played one of the most energetic shows I’ve seen to date. They started their set with “All Downhill From Here” and the crowd loved every second of it. The band played through 22 songs in total and never slowed down. It was very impressive. Pop Punk’s definitely not dead. You’ll be missing out if you don’t see this show when it hits your town. You can see the rest of the tour dates here. Oh, and if you’re going get there early and see H2O you won’t regret it.
