Gemini Club (Chicago, IL) and The Sounds (Malmo, Sweden)

The Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, CA

The Belasco Theater saw a full house last Thursday for The Sounds and Gemini Club.  I have never seen so many folks wearing t-shirts of the band they were about to see as I did at this show.  It was pretty awesome.  Gemini Club started the night off with their brand of indie-electronic rock and got the crowd moving.  Though not as fast or for as long as The Sounds did.  The Sounds are perfection and Maja Ivarsson is a fantastic front-woman.  I was thoroughly impressed with the way she did the splits in the air with those heals. RESPECT. I have trouble enough walking around in flat shoes, you know?  The band played through 20 songs and the audience kept up with the band the entire time.  There was no drop in energy.  If you ever get the chance to see The Sounds don’t sleep on it!  Their show is a great example of what every concert experience should be. The Sounds are done with their US tour dates for now but folks over seas, heads up! They are coming back your way! Dates are here.  Also, don’t forget to check out their newest record Weekend that comes out today!
