Dog Society (New York, NY)
October 16th, 2013
Beacon Theatre in New York, NY

On Wednesday night I had the privilege of attending Fresh 102.7’s Fall Fest concert to see Dog Society perform. As the first act of the show, they definitely didn’t disappoint. Starting the night off with their song, “The Fuse Before”, Dog Society had the audience energetically engaged and swaying to the beat. The band consists of Bruce Erik Brauer on guitar, Guerzon on bass, Joe Rainieri on percussion and vocalist Brian Schnaak. Combining Schnaak’s raspy voice with the beautifully-organic guitar playing and skillful drumming, it is apparent that this band is undeniably talented. As they finished up “Nothing Too Big,” and started singing their last song of the night, “Salt,” Schnaak decides to toss a few objects towards the audience, who eagerly attempt to retrieve them. With animated stage presence, powerful rock songs and likable personalities, Dog Society is certainly a band to look out for. Overall, it was a great start to a rockin’ filled night.
