Atlas Genius (Adelaide, Australia)
June 19th, 2013
The Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY
On June 19th, excitement filled Bowery Ballroom as the audience, which consisted of teens and young adults, awaited patiently for Atlas Genius. Formerly known as a cover band from Australia, Atlas Genius, consisting of two brothers Keith and Michael Jeffery, began their reach to stardom with their debut single “Trojan”. With its catchy lyrics and stomping beats, the song made its way up to the Billboard charts. This inspired the band to recently release their first full album titled, “When It Was Now”.
The concert commenced with Keith Jeffery singing “Symptoms” from their When It was Now album, while energetically moving from one side of the stage to the other. Eventually it became more intimate and calming, when the rest of the band mates left the stage, and Keith sang an acoustic version of “All These Girls”. By the end of “Trojans”, the audience was eager for more. Atlas Genius encored with “Electric” and concluded with jumping off Michael’s drum set. Overall, the night was “electric”.
