It had been a while since Manchester Orchestra graced the Los Angeles area with their presence.  Lucky for us HTC brought out Manchester Orchestra, Dreamers Dose, and Weatherbox to the House of Blues in West Hollywood and arranged for a virtual concert experience.  So even if you weren’t directly in attendance you could still feel like you were there by streaming the concert from the comfort of your nearest internet connection.   Dreamers Dose started the night off playing some awesome 90’s inspired rock.  They were followed by San Diego band Weatherbox who played great and had more than a few die-hard fans in the audience.  Finally, Manchester Orchestra hit the stage.  I was unsure of what this show was going to be like.  I saw the band when they were just starting out on a tour with Brand New and Kevin Devine in 2007. Then I saw the band again when they had established themselves in 2009 and their live show dynamic had completely changed. I was nervous but completely floored when they began to play.  The adoration their fans have for the band is obvious and vice versa as singer Andy Hull thanked the crowed for their interest in still seeing them play.  They played 16 energy-filled songs   -17 if you count the last bit after the encore as an Andy solo song. The crowd loved every single second of it and even managed to establish a few mosh-pits though HOB security tried their best to settle them down. Also, cheers to the guy who jumped on stage to hug Andy and then jumped off into the crowd.   Manchester Orchestra seems to have taken a new breath and with a new line-up it’s obvious they are ready to win over new fans and wow those already established. My love for the band was totally rekindled. It truly was a fantastic show and I recommend you go see them if you haven’t in a while.  If you haven’t missed a MO show then you already know what I’m talking about.  Dates are here.
