A small crowd wandered into The Metro as opener, Damien Jurado played his opening set. Jurado filled his quiet set with funny anecdotes while the venue filled. The 93 XRT  show showcased songs from various Van Etten albums, but mostly the new album, Tramp. Songs from Tramp included: “Warsaw”, “Give Out”, “Leonard”, “Serpents”, “All I can”, and “Ask”. It wasn’t too long after Van Etten started playing that she gave a shout out to Chicago, including a shout out to Obama. “ If you see Obama tell him congratulations.” Per usual Van Etten put on an electrifying set. Van Etten has a way of transforming a large venue into an intimate, soul wrenching, heart skipping performance.
