Alt-J returned to Los Angeles to play a sold out show at The Bootleg Theater with Wildcat! Wildcat!. I had heard good things about Wildcat! Wildcat! but words didn’t do the band justice. These guys are killer and were the perfect opener for the show Alt-J was about to put on. Though it’s only been about 2 months since the band was last in Los Angeles, the growth they’ve had as a band is obvious. Their show at The Echo was loads of fun but their show at The Bootleg was fucking great. They’ve just about perfected their stage presence and though the sound could have been louder at times the show was great overall. Now that the crowd has had time to mull An Awesome Wave over, the LA folks couldn’t resist singing along especially to songs like “Breezeblocks” and “Tessellate.” So much dancing and so much fun. If your Alt-J curiosity hasn’t been sparked yet, then you must be one of those “I have to see it for myself” folks. It’s okay, I’m one of those too. So here, go, live! For what it’s worth: it’s a good time, I promise.
