The Constellation Room has a tendency to present the best music and last Thursday night was no different. They had local Los Angeles bands Tapioca and the Flea and Youngblood Hawke on the bill for an excellent night of music. Tapioca and the Flea did a killer job starting the night off. They were definitely one of the best openers I’ve seen in a while. Their vocals have the simplicity of The Front Bottoms and the technicality of Anamanaguchi’s sounds with an indie-alternative twist, it’s pretty rad. Keep an eye on these guys, they have a new album coming out pretty soon. Youngblood Hawke put on an incredible performance. They even managed to throw in a cover of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy,” -super bold and super amazing! With six folks on stage, jumping, dancing, and singing their show was anything but boring. Seeing Youngblood Hawke live is like a splurge of energy blowing you away, they’re just so fun to watch. Their music is super upbeat, super fun, and the accessory percussion and keys they add is perfect. You can check out their EP for yourself here, get it here, or see when they’re coming to your town over here. If they’re playing in your city do yourself a favor and don’t miss them!
