Tonight was my first time shooting an arena show, and I could not have been more nervous and excited! Not only was this a personal honor to cover one of my favorite artists of all time, but it was on a scale I had yet to attempt.

The show itself was phenomenal, a true rock and roll spectacle to witness. This is not your typical rock show, it’s theater on a grand scale. There was so much happening on stage, I found myself trying to run from one end of the stage to the other, dodging and weaving between the 13 other photogs plus security.

The lights went down and two soldiers came out on stage with a puppet in between them. A speech from the Stanley Kubrick movie Spartacus played out. The soldiers dropped the puppet and left the stage. “In The Flesh” started in and so did the enormity of the show. The criss crossed hammer logo was everywhere, on the video screen, flags and armbands. Roger Waters came out in a t-shirt, but was soon donning the long black coat with a red, hammer arm band that eerily occupied the stage before the stage before the show began.

I could go through a blow by blow of the next six songs, but I want you to check out my photo gallery and if they tour is coming to your town, go see this iconic piece of rock history brought to life by Roger Waters himself.
