In all honesty, I didn’t expect to be at this show. I had expected to be packing things away and getting ready to head overseas, yet life has hiccups as you all must know by now. So what better way to be patient than by revisiting the spring when Pearl and the Beard first came to Madison for a folksy ruckus of a show? Not that it was off the wall, the concert was pure unconventional entertainment with three extraordinarily talented musicians from Brooklyn. Jeremy, Jocelyn and Emily all switch lead vocal duties and hold a candle to each other with distinct, personality-laced songs. When combined, they become a trio supergroup of folk proportions. Anna is just about to kick off her own campaign to conquer hearts as Canary in a Coal Mine, her new full length, is wrapped up, packaged and (as of today) in her hands. To be released shortly, might I add! September 30th at The Frequency, catch her album release show with Katie Powderly Band, Count This Penny and Savannah Smith.
