Friday night brought the end of an era in Madison rock with The Nod playing their final show to a packed, perfect summer evening on University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Union Terrace. Honestly, you could not have asked for a better closing to a music career surrounded by friends in a place that supported the band throughout the years, with the sun setting over the Union, the band, and the dozens of boats parked in the waters nearby. The show just happened to be the first I caught, besides lead singer/guitarist Brett Newski’s solo performance during SXWI, and I was more than thrilled to have partaken in a bit of Madison music lore. Great job guys, never set down your drumsticks and picks!
