For some time, I have been asking myself “Why the hell can I not find “Little Steven’s Underground Garage” on the radio anymore?”. It is a radio show that introduced me to, and reignited the fire in me for many bands and genres. Those Darlins came on stage at the Cedar Cultural Center and instantly I had to know what happened to that show! Garage Rock filled the room, and it was great, very much missing from my current music selection and I have since rectified the situation.
Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears came out and took the energy that the crowd had bottled up, deep deep inside, and set it all free! Boogie was the opening number and let me tell you, the place got HOT! Soul music is a powerful thing, and when wielded by such a band, you’d wish you had opted to wear a t-shirt and checked your coat. I highly recommend this show if it comes to your town.
By the way, I did find out what happened to the radio show: Satellite radio and an HD radio version of the original carrier’s call letters.
